Wheat Thins Sundried Tomato & Basil - Super Bowl Party Treats

Guilt Free Super Bowl Party treats, part 4. Another snack for everyone at your party, and these are excellent. Lay them out in a bowl, don’t let anyone see the boxes, and your guests will be begging you to tell them what these delightful little crackers are. I bought these by accident the one day thinking they were Triscuits (a regular snack of mine), I’m dumb and sometimes I just don’t pay attention. The boxes looked similar, so I guess it was an honest mistake. At least I’m man enough to admit it. But my dear reader, many of man’s greatest discoveries have been made by complete accident; antibiotics being the most notable in my mind at the moment.
Wheat Thins Sundried Tomato & Basil crackers are exceptionally good, and they’re pretty good for you too, especially for a genuine snack food. They’re not greasy like potato chips, they aren’t loaded with fat. Wheat Thins do hold some calories, but those calories are not completely ‘empty.’ You have some dietary fiber in there, and we could all use more of that.
All that information is completely useless if they taste like cardboard, and you never eat them. They’re of no use going stale in the cupboard. Letting that happen, friends, would be a major mistake. While Wheat Thins are not my favorite snacks in the ‘Original’ variety, the tomato and basil seasoning in these set them off in a big way. Them being just a little bit acidic gives them enough ‘zing’ to get your mouth watering, and leave you wanting more. Come on now, give them some credit; when was the last time you could call a product with ‘wheat’ in the title addicting?
Thinking I’m getting old (a ripe 24 years), and my tastes have matured, I let my 7 year old cousin give them a try to see if they would be ‘kid friendly.’ You know, do a little bit of market research for Nabisco, out of the kindness of my heart. Well, he ate a handful, grabbed the rest of my box, and ran off to my room to eat them and play video games. His Dad says he’s picky, but he was really eating the mess out of them. That might be a good sign for you parents if you’re looking for a healthier potato chip alternative for your kids.
Recommended easily, I think you should enjoy them. They’ll look great sitting on your coffee table this Super Sunday. Dieters should love them, they’re very filling and shouldn’t hurt your allowances too bad. Don’t take that statement as these are a ‘diet only’ food, these taste good enough to have universal appeal. I promise!

I know these are great tasting and this probably isn’t the best question for this board but does anyone know the song on the brand new commercial for them. It is not the one from happy feet. It goes “tell me what you want”…

I’m not sure Dillanc, but I’ll try to find out for you.

I am interested in this song as well. Any word on who it’s by yet?
February 24th, 2008 at 9:24 pm
No, and it’s frustrating me as well…

the song is by Gia Farrell and can be found on her myspace page- its called “Hit me up”

The song is definitely not “Hit Me Up” by Gia Ferrell or “Tell Me What You Want” by the Pipettes. Please read the whole post before posting. The lyrics in this new commercial for the same product go “tell me what you want, tell me tell me”. It is an alternative/poppy sounding song with a female lead singer. It is fast paced and catchy. I contacted the nabisco company and all I got was a generic response that said we hire and outside agency to do our ads and it is not possible for us to catalog the artists etc.. used in our ads.

I AM RIGHT IN THE CRAZY BOAT WITH YOU. If I even READ THE WORDS GIA F****LL one more time. I’m going to go freaking crazy. The internet is failing me and it is making me mad.

I am going crazy too! I can’t find the name of the song anywhere!!!!!

I don’t want to get anyones hopes down but I to have heard this song, dozens of times now watching the Food Network. I hate to say it but I think this isn’t a song but just a little jingle that was made up for this comercial

I’m leaning towards Sean’s assessment. I think this was just an in-house job, and not a major (or even semi-major) recording artist.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
INTERNET FAILS!

Ughhhhh! It’s been frustrating me. If I see one more person say “Ohhh it’s Hit Me Up by Gia Farrell! I figured it out!” I’m going to have them killed.
The words “tell me what you want” aren’t even anywhere IN that song.
If it’s a jingle I’m going to cry!!!
April 15th, 2008 at 1:44 pm
it can’t just be a jingle
it’s not “jingle-like” at all. someone SOMEWHERE has to know!!!

I”m not sure what I heard just now is any of theh songs you all heard, but what I heard sounds like its a foreign language and from a foreign country, and I DID LIKE iT. I am also wanting to find title to the music I heard. It was for same product. (July 6,2008).

the song is sung by Claudio Villa is called a stornelli type of singing, this may be a stornello Romano. Our family used to listen to them, they are what might be considered little Italian Roman stories.
Enjoy,
Marianna

I felt electrified when I first heard that voice.
Thought that that the internet would help, but it hasn’t yet unless the last post by Marianna is correct. Will go do some more searching.
Don’t care if the the song is just a jingle, thought I would prefer it to be a poem. The voice is magic enough, somewhat reminiscent of fado, but I think it’s Italian, the last word was I think destino, why do people think we’re talking about Tell Me What You Want?
If the net can’t help us with this, what can it do?

Where do you get Claudia Villa? Not even close. The song in the commercial is song by a female. This is a male you mention. The song sounds kind of tropical and is really cool music.

Claudio Villa does he sing the song in the Wheat Thins Sundried Tomato & Basil commercial where all the tomatoes are falling from the sky into the field?? I really like that song. its in Italian. what’s the exact name of the song though?? …if I’m thinking of the right artist.
July 16th, 2008 at 6:35 pm
hey, it is Claudio Villa. the name of the song is Samba alla Fiorentina. My parents were born in italy and Claudio Villa was one of there favorites.
July 17th, 2008 at 7:10 pm
hey stop hatin on the claudio villa suggestion it is the right song for the tomato basil one….
its great too i love all of his music actually…
i dont even know what yall are talking about with the Gia Farrell stuff…
good luck with that
July 24th, 2008 at 6:33 pm
I just heard samples of Claudio Villa and it does sound like him - but I heard a sample of “Samba alla Fiorentina” and that didn’t sound like the same song…. Maybe I heard a wrong snipet. Maybe I’ll write to Nabisco…

I FINALLY found it! It’s “Stornelli Amorisi” by Claudio Villa! I love the Internet! haha! You can find ANYTHING!
