CVS Chap Block
Part of being a thrifty consumer is being able to stretch your money as far as it can go. Contrary to popular belief, store brand items can often be just as good (if not superior) to their name brand equivalents. Yeah, some things aren’t so great; sodas, potato chips, etc, but most of your pharmaceutical goods work just as well.
I started using CVS Chap Block in place of Chapstick a few months ago, and I’ve been happy with the product. There are only two active ingredients in your average lip balm, so it’s hard to mess up. I prefer the spearmint variety (couldn’t find a picture), but they carry multiple varieties.
My lips are perfectly moist, protected from the sun (SPF4), and the cold. I saved around 40% versus the leading brand, and 150% compared to the pricier brands (Burt’s Bees, etc). I easily recommend CVS Chap Block, especially if you go through a lot of the stuff. Thumbs up!

I like this post. I was googling Chap Block and this blog came up. I went out on a limb and bought a 3 pack of the cherry Chap Block at a CVS because my Chapstik cherry ran out. I thought to myself “Why buy the 3 pack if I only need one?” but it was the only one available and I like cherry the best. To my pleasant surprise, it’s not as “dry” as Chapstik and it has more of a cherry flavor. I haven’t gone back to Chapstik ever since.

Thanks Dianna!
I’ve found single tubes in ‘fish bowls’ by the pharmacy check out counters in more than one location. I’m sure this varies store-by-store though, but I wish you luck!

I just bought the Cherry Chap Block from CVS and LOVE IT. I actually like it a lot better than Chapstick brand. It’s smoother and doesn’t have such a chemically smell. I actually googled Chap Block just to see if anyone else feels the same way and I’m glad to see other people do!

Although I don’t actually use this chapstick, I feel compelled to give it a full 5 star review!
My girlfriend started using this chapstick about three weeks ago, and her lips are noticeably softer! Every winter her lips turn into little porcupines. She bought this chapstick on whim (hoping that something would aid her calloused smackers) and it worked! Plus, the cherry flavor is delicious!
