Miller Genuine Draft Light 64
Miller has made over their Miller Genuine Draft Light in an effort to go toe to toe with Michelob Ultra in the low carb beer market. It is a mere 64 calories compared to Michelob Ultra’s 95. I was eager to try this one out.
Miller Genuine Draft Light 64 has a slight corn malt aroma. The pour results in a vigorous head that dissipates to a thin film. The color, as pictured, is a pale yellow. The mouth-feel is very light bodied with an abundance of carbonation. It has a corny sweetness to it, but there are no big “beer forward” attributes. It does, however, have more flavor to it than the watery Michelob Ultra. I think I could drink quite a few of these beers in quick succession and not get tired of the flavor because it is so light.
A friend of mine commented that Miller Genuine Draft Light 64 is “watered down”. I told him that I think they did an incredible job for what they were trying to accomplish in the low carb/calorie category. One suggestion that would not raise the caloric intake is to add a few more hops. The bitters would give it some more dimension instead of being a bit thin on flavor. Even though this beer lacks a bit of beer character, it has its place in the market. It would be perfect ice cold on a hot day and definitely fits the bill if you are looking to drink a refreshing light beer.
This beer is a bargain in terms of price. Genuine Draft is considered “premium” beer, while it’s competitor, Michelob Ultra, is considered “above premium”. A 6-pack of MGD 64 in bottles was $4.99. Recommended!

It only has 2.9% alcohol. Utah only has 3.2% beer. What’s that tell you?
March 28th, 2008 at 9:17 am
a woos beer!
April 5th, 2008 at 6:32 pm
I am drinking one right now. I am saddened that I have five more left in the fridge..that space could be occupied by something better.
April 8th, 2008 at 3:01 pm
Worst Beer ever!!! Miller really screwed this one up!!! Bring back my MGD Light please!!!!
April 24th, 2008 at 6:04 am
You people don’t make sense. Its a 64 calorie beer so it will NEVER be have a big % of alcohol and it will never taste like a 100 calorie light beer. What did you people expect? It is what it is… the best tasting *64* calorie beer there is. Name one better?
April 24th, 2008 at 1:50 pm
Well said Shawn; Miller Genuine Draft Light 64 is targeting a specific audience; if you’re not in the audience you probably will not enjoy the product.
April 25th, 2008 at 5:51 am
It leaves a bitter taste in your mouth, but I probably will have it on occasion. Still prefer Michelob Ultra, much better taste.
April 28th, 2008 at 9:19 pm
Miller should have taken a lesson from Coca-Cola who made one of the biggest marketing blunders of all times when they tried to change the formula of an established product. They had to come back with “Coca Cola Classic” to recover. This 64 thing should have been marketed with a new name because the original product (MGD Light) has been butchered beyond belief. It has angered me enough to not only switch beers, but to abandon all Miller products.
April 30th, 2008 at 2:20 pm
I think it is wonderful! I enjoy the amount of calories and the amount of alcohol it contains! We can go out for an evening with much less worry! Thanks Miller Brewing Company!
May 16th, 2008 at 4:10 pm
Because of medicines I now have to take, I had to switch to the 1/2% N.A. brews. Except for Claushalter(sp?) of Germany, they tasted plain awful. The MGD 64 actually tastes more like beer, and my body seems to tolerate a few at a time. So, great beer for certain pill poppers…
May 25th, 2008 at 8:15 pm
Seriously, didn’t Miller learn anything from coke’s mistake?
There is not reason to ‘remake’ a beverage we were all enjoying before!
The least Miller could have done was left MGDL alone, and released a new ’summer beer’. Hopefully this one ends up in the discount cart shortly, and we can go back to the good old thing…the real Miller Genuine Draft Light.
May 27th, 2008 at 7:43 am
I was an avid MGD Light fan until they switched to the 64. Then I noticed I could drink it all night and not even catch a buzz. So what’s the point of drinking beer if you can’t get even a slight buzz? I quit drinking it all together and switched to Bud Light.
Big Mistake selling that 64 crap in Wisconsin Miller! Of course they are marketing the hell out of it here in Wisconsin. Sooner or later they are going to learn their lesson.
May 29th, 2008 at 11:00 am
I have yet to try the MGD 64 (I live in NC), but I am hoping soon (fingers crossed) that it will come to the southern states. I have another recommendation for an ultra-light beer: Becks Premium Light – it only has 64 calories and I love the taste!
June 18th, 2008 at 6:27 pm
I am a boater and I think this is the one of the best light beers out there. I can drink them all day in the hot sun without the calories. If you have ever been on the beach all day drinking then “This Miller is for You!” Thanks Miller PLEASE bring them out in 24 or 30 Packs soon.
June 19th, 2008 at 7:17 pm
This beer does exactly what it is designed to do, Offer a light taste with a reasonable alcohol content. For those of us who want to drink a 5-6% alcohol beer, this is not the one to buy. Thanks Miller
June 20th, 2008 at 10:50 am
I recently discovered MGDL 64. I enjoy it! While it certainly does not have the body of a full flavor beer, the 64 calories do not add to my body either!
June 20th, 2008 at 10:53 am
I recently tried the MGDL-64 after being deprived by a diet and was quite suprised by the flavor. I am very happy to have found a beer that is only 1 point on the Weight Watchers plan. It’s a beer you can drink as much as you want without gaining any weight!!!! Can’t wait for Miller to bring it out in cases!
June 20th, 2008 at 2:54 pm
We were truly disappointed. If Miller wanted to get into the low carb, low cal beers, why didn’t they just make an ultra light and leave our favorite beer alone. I think the choices should be out there, but MGD light was a beer that tasted good but yet was a few less calories and carbs. MGD 64 tastes like carbonated water with a little beer tasted infused. Not for us. We will be on the search for another beer.
June 27th, 2008 at 11:20 am
regarding the person who said they should take a lesson from coke; the only reason coke went to new coke and then back was because they wanted to stop using real suger and switch to corn syrup, it was not a marketing blunder but a planned ruse and you never knew the difference.
Yes this beer does not have a lot of flaver but what do you expect for 64 calories, you are not going to get a guinness.
June 28th, 2008 at 2:56 pm
This is perfect adult soda. Any real beer lover isn’t drinking Miller anyway, so this is perfect for beer-ish refreshment without the guilt of calories. If you want to raise the alcohol content of your afternoon, serve the MGDL with a shot of hard alcohol and continue to sip away at you refreshing MGDL!
June 30th, 2008 at 5:41 pm
Admin and Shawn said it all…the beer is not targeting beer drinkers that are not calorie concious. They are targeting folks that are watching their weight!
I drank MGD Light years ago….had to go to Mich Light when I could no longer buy it. Since then, I’ve switched to Mich Ultra (which I LOVE), and recently started drinking the 64 calorie “Becks Premier Light”. The only thing I don’t like about Beck’s is the price. $15-$16 per 12 pack is rather steep to me.
I will be very glad to see MGC Light in our supermarkets here in the south! Anxious to check it out.
July 8th, 2008 at 7:37 pm
We’re drinking it right now and we’re thinking we’ll have to beer bong it to get a good buzz. Or, we could buy some normal beer.
July 8th, 2008 at 7:38 pm
We\’re drinking it right now and we\’re thinking we\’ll have to beer bong it to get a good buzz. Or, we could buy some normal beer.
July 9th, 2008 at 5:56 pm
I usually drink Miller light but saw this at store today and it has less calories. It has a wonderfully light taste and seems to just flow down my neck. If you are looking for a real light beer give MGD Light 64 a try.
July 10th, 2008 at 6:34 pm
GOODBYE MGD LITE—–You screwed up! Hello Coors Light!
July 14th, 2008 at 6:17 pm
Hey this is pretty much one of the saddest days of my life. Not that I need the ronrico 151 or monarch vodka, but really Miller? This is from the company of fine products like mgd and miller light?? C’mon?!?! I feel like miller is taking a piss on me and calling it rain… so sad.
July 18th, 2008 at 4:01 pm
I enjoy the taste, and as someone who for medical reasons needs lower calories/carbs in my diet, this is awesome.
The ‘Old’ MGD Light did nothing for me.
This is an ultra-light beer with less alcohol and some good beer taste. It is what it is.
And for those of you typing about another brew, it’s Miller LITE, not light.
July 23rd, 2008 at 4:55 pm
Bravo Miller Brewing Company! Excellent light beer for non alcoholics. Plenty of hard stuff out there for those of you who need to get your “buzz”.
July 24th, 2008 at 10:46 pm
I have become a woman who is heavier because of the fact that I have been drinking beer(I used to drink Vodka regularley). I recently became a beer person. I was a huge Bud Light drinker then I heard about MGDL and started drinking it. This last Sunday (my only day off of work. I realized that I was not getting any affect from it. I draink 21 beers. I never felt a buzz.
July 31st, 2008 at 2:54 am
Both my wife and I drank MGD light for years, we can’t stand the weak flavor of the new 64. If you read the comments, the only ones who drink it are those with special problems. Get rid of Chill and replace it with 64 but bring my MGD light back. I have already switched brands!
August 3rd, 2008 at 12:44 am
I am a huge beer fan of all types and even brew my own. I agree with many of the comments-If you want a full bodied beer than don’t drink this. I will say it’s the best of the ultra low calorie beer I’ve tasted and it absolutely does not have an aftertaste. It’s extremely light and crisp. Perfect for a hot day.
August 7th, 2008 at 4:56 pm
I found my new beer! Good job Miller! Finally someone made a low calorie beer that taste good!! Good-Bye Budlight…. heelllloooo 64!! Now i can drink twice as much with no guilt!
August 11th, 2008 at 9:56 am
Tried it for the 1st time this past weekend and was pleasantly surprised. I think it’s easy when you’re in your 20’s to get on a soap box and demand a fuller tasting beer and not worry a lick about calories. ( But try that in your 50’s )
True it isn’t the “buzz” most of us are used to with 5% beers but what are we to expect? The upside is I didn’t feel at all bloated nor the slightest hangover come Sunday morning. Like everything in life, it’s a trade off. When you’re younger and burning calories left and right, then it’s no big deal, but when you get ‘promoted’ to a desk job, then yes, calories and diet become a factor. I for one like it and I’m glad it’s available in Oregon!
August 22nd, 2008 at 8:08 am
As a Diabetic and a beer lover, Miller 64 is super. Good going Miller Brewing Company.
August 25th, 2008 at 5:17 pm
It’s more like a refreshing near-beer. Not much alcohol of course, but tastes pleasant enough.
August 26th, 2008 at 1:10 pm
I think that it is a GREAT tasting beer, especially for having only 64 calories. I will never switch to another brand unless it makes me sick or something.
September 2nd, 2008 at 2:46 pm
It looks like the special needs people are the only ones that like it. Good luck with that segment Miller. I am super picky about my beer and when I switched to Miller MGD Light many years ago it was perfect for calories and alcohol content. Now that they dropped the alcohol down to 2.6% and did something to make it taste like brown water, I am done. The sad part is I went to the doctor thinking that something was wrong with me when they made the change-over to 64. I couldn’t taste or feel it. My friends make fun of it saying now it takes ‘64′ beers to feel anything. Even my super thin women friends can’t finish a bottle of it saying ‘what’s the point?’ Switch it back before it’s too late.
September 6th, 2008 at 1:18 pm
I work for GDC in AL, and we just got this in and I LOVE IT, it reminds me of home, Texas, here in AL we can’t get MGD light but we can get MGD light 64 and I just started this new diet and thought I was going to give up beer 4 ever and leave it up to Miller to answer my call, Thanks guys!!!!
September 10th, 2008 at 9:28 am
I love Mg64, however i am not sure it loves me, when i started drinking it i always felt like i had a full course meal after one, my stomach hasnt been same since, i am comsidering giveng it up, does anyone else notice this or have an answer?
September 12th, 2008 at 5:16 pm
I hadn’t bought MGD Light for a while, after switching to another last year. Then the other day, I got a taste for good ol’ MGD Light. I went to the store and bought a case of MGD Light 64, not realizing what Miller had done to emasculate its formerly great-tasting light beer. This stuff is awful! What’s in here besides water? I’ve had several of them, thinking maybe it was just me, but life’s way too short to spend any more of it drinking this poor excuse and pretending it’s beer! Who’d like the other 20?
September 14th, 2008 at 11:00 am
Please bring back my MGD light. It had been my favorite beer.
September 15th, 2008 at 8:11 pm
I bought 2 twelve packs for a family get together. When I was putting it in the cooler I popped one open…I had to strain to taste it. When I read the label and saw ‘not more than 3.2% alcohol’ I went back to the LIQUOR store and asked them why they were selling grocery store beer (I’m from Minnesota and they have 3.2 and strong beers). They checked it out and said that is what it is, sorry.
I brought it to the get together and appologized to everyone before we started drinking so they wouldn’t expect too much.
September 17th, 2008 at 6:50 am
I thought it was pretty good, especially for being only 64 calories.
September 18th, 2008 at 12:47 pm
Hellooooooooooo, wake up folks. This near bear is just that and it’s perfect. All the previous comments about no buzz and 2,9% is the whole point. This stuff is for someone who wants to cut back (and you ALL will, sooner or later) but not completely stop (no quitter here). Hey, have a Gray Goose to wind your clock and then cruize on this liquid. No falling down, drooling, and other impresive feats. Way to go Miller
September 18th, 2008 at 2:09 pm
I was a big MGD light drinker and proudly introduced new friends to the only rich full body light beer around. MGD 64 is nasty taste like a flat domestic NA beer. There are NA beers that have better flavor. Bring back my MGD light PLEEEASE!!!
September 19th, 2008 at 8:44 am
The flavor of MGD Light was very similar to the MGD. I enjoyed it and consumed responsibly. The MGD 64 has no similar taste to it’s full bold counter part. This is a call out to Miller, the people have spoken, several are moving on to a new label and MGD 64 is not the label. Bring MGD Light back. Keep 64 Ultra for the aimed market, just bring my beer back. Pretty pleeease!!!
September 21st, 2008 at 9:49 am
I have to say that I am a fan of the MGD, but this 64 doesnt do it for me. The taste is almost similar to carbonated water.Take this one back to formula!!!!
September 23rd, 2008 at 4:16 pm
Oh for crying out loud. It is 64 cal beer. If you want calories, taste and a quick buzz then drink something else. I think it is light and delivers what is advertised. I plan to drink it when it is hot hot and I want a cold beer. If I want to drink % then I will go get a vodka. If I want a heavy beer then I will get a Dark one.
Good Job Miller!
September 26th, 2008 at 3:11 pm
This beer may be the ideal after athletics beer. When you want to be social and have a few, but you know you’ll be driving later, its ideal. Ice cold, its refreshing (more water seems to make it faster to chill?)and for women who don’t metabolize alcohol as well as men, its wonderful.
September 26th, 2008 at 3:59 pm
I feel exactly the way most do…it is a 64 cal beer and low alcohol so don’t expect to get smashed on this beer unless you have plenty around. If you want to get a buzz…buy the regular…or as some have suggested have a shot or two while drinking. Anyway…cheers to all…it’s Friday!!!
Tim in Chitown
September 26th, 2008 at 4:02 pm
I just found out about this beer and am drinking one now. It definetely has a light taste and no alcohol after taste. I’m excited it’s only 1 point on Weight Watchers but I’m hoping to catch a little buzz…maybe I need to drink on an empty stomach
I’m going to try Beck’s Light beer next!
September 27th, 2008 at 7:14 pm
Hey I tried it…not bad. Like the others said, if you’re looking for a buzz, then Miller Lite is a good choice. This MGD 64 is great if you are gonna drink all day at some function or if you’re pulling an all nighter. Good job! Miller. I am not always gonna buy it but for the calories it does the trick. Thanks.
October 2nd, 2008 at 8:15 am
I love this beer for just the purpose that it serves. This beer is not for the super big beer drinkers, it for dieter, light drinkers, and or people trying to cut back. You can still go to the store and buy the classics. So why complain? So enjoy your calories and carbs or drink up because MGD 64 isn’t a gut buster beer.
October 2nd, 2008 at 1:37 pm
Great idea Miller. I like a really light beer and this one is perfect for me.
October 5th, 2008 at 3:35 pm
My sister picked up a 12 pack of MGD 64 at the store, and she was telling me how great this is. I AGREE!! Only problem is finding this damn stuff. Wal-mart only carries it in a 6 pack and the guy told me how popular it has been, and thus the reason for no stock. I like this beer better than both Miller Lite and Michelob Ultra. GREAT job Miller!!
October 5th, 2008 at 7:30 pm
first sip….taste like Miller Lite, after that watery, however, the 64 calories is quite appealing. purchased a 18 pack today, and wonder if it is available in a 30 pack. I will continue to drink it due to the calorie count.
October 9th, 2008 at 12:49 pm
Awful will of a beer. I’ve been drinking regular MGD light for years. Loved it! But this stuff is awful and to replace a great light beer with this makes me mad.
Bring back regular MGD Light!!
October 12th, 2008 at 9:30 am
EVERYONE IS TALKING ABOUT THIS BEER MILLER 64 …. I HAVEN’T HAD THE CHANCE TO TRY IT, BUT SOUNDS LIKE A LOT OF PEOPLE WORRY ABOUT THE CALORIES AND THE ALCOHOL, AND SO DO I!! BUT I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW HOW MANY CARBS THIS DRINK HAS.
THANK YOU
October 16th, 2008 at 1:12 pm
As an ex bartender I know that after a couple beers your taste buds are shot. So here is how I drink Miller 64. First, drink one or two Coors light for the great taste, then have as many low calorie 64s as you lke. Viola! The best of both worlds.
October 17th, 2008 at 4:36 pm
It’s okay…Only problem is that it’s going to take me 18 to get drunk off as opposed to 12 normal beers. I guess that defeats the purpose of cutting back on the calories because you have to drink more
October 24th, 2008 at 9:10 pm
i like it. it taste enough like beer to satisfie my crave and doesnt make me put on the wieght I always wanted a beer that I could drink all day and not get drunk thank you miller
October 26th, 2008 at 7:38 pm
I LOVE this beer!!! For those of us that find socializing for more than house a bit on the diet buster side, I highly recommend it. I went out for hours, drank a few beers and felt completely refreshed the next day!!! I converted to Mich Ultra a few months ago to drop the carbs – this beats it by a landslide! Thanks MGD!
November 3rd, 2008 at 4:53 am
I love this beer! With the driving laws the way they are, I can have a few beers after golf and still be able to drive with no problems whatsoever! The fewer calories is a really great plus also! Keep up the good work Miller!
Bonnie from Wisconsin
November 6th, 2008 at 4:15 pm
MGD 64 WAS AWFUL!! Tasted like Skunked Miller Genuine Draft Light, actually, it tasted like watered down Skunked MGD light. $20 for a 24 case of Domestic? TOO much!
Very dissapointing. For 28 more tiny Cals, Rolling Rock Light BLOWS 64 away!
November 9th, 2008 at 4:38 pm
I really like this beer. This beer is perfect for flip cup and beer pong. It is ALOT easier to drink. I hope you all keep it around forever, i love it!!!!
November 10th, 2008 at 5:44 am
MGD is awesome – It is so superior to the other so called ultra light beers. We mix in a couple of MGDs with our Miller Lite – Can only buy a six pack here so can’t afford just MGD. Please hurry and give us the opportunity to buy 12, 18 and 24 packs!! Great Job!
November 10th, 2008 at 5:16 pm
THIS IS A GREAT BEER! I AM ONE WHO LIKES TO WORK OUT AND WANT TO AVOID THAT “BEER BELLY” ONE CAN GET FROM DRINKING TOO MUCH BEER(EMPTY CALORIES). WITH THIS BEER, I CAN HAVE A FEW AND NOT WORRY ABOUT HAVING TO DO EXTRA WORK AT THE GYM. MILLER HAS THE RIGHT IDEA FOR THOSE OF US WHO ARE TRYING TO STAY FIT AND DON’T MIND A LIGHTER TASTING BEER.
November 12th, 2008 at 2:14 pm
Ok…I thought that I could save 738 calories a night but found out I can’t get drunk off an 18 pack…That’s one reason why I won’t drink it…Second reason is that I can drink a 18 pack of Busch Light and won’t eat for the day…That’s only 1800 for my daily caloric intake…So, I’m on a diet without knowing it…Life is grand!!
November 19th, 2008 at 9:44 am
I wondered about the alcohol content. Drank 15 one night, felt great and woke up at 5:30 like normal still feeling great. That’s when I checked for alcohol content and found that your saying it’s 2.9. Perfect! Now I can reduce calorie/carb intake, drink all night and not feel the consequences of the long night. Whoo Hoo! My husband says he’ll buy me a case of water for a lot less money. That’s not the same. I do like beer and this way I satisfy my mind knowing that it is beer and not water. I’m glad they have 24 packs now.
November 19th, 2008 at 4:06 pm
Of all the brews I’ve tasted in more than 45 years of beer drinking, 64 it is the closest to water.
December 2nd, 2008 at 8:06 pm
i bought a case and it will be my last. did not know the alcohol content was only 2.9%. hell, when i grew up in ohio you had to buy 3.2% beer if you were under 21 and i though that was bad. miller really missed the mark on this one. my wife drinks mic ultra and i can manage that if i have too, much better taste too. i also notice the miller 64 almost turned to slush coming out of the frig, thats what made me look in to the alcohol content. sorry miller, i will just stick to your regular lite if that is ok.
December 20th, 2008 at 1:49 pm
I agree that yes, it’s not going to taste like a normal beer…but for the people who have been MGD Lite drinkers, they’ve lost their beer. Miller should have simply added a new beer instead of replacing one. That’s why so many people are upset..not just for the fact that it tastes like crap, but because they can no longer go to the store and buy their beer of choice. I’m sure they’ve lost more buyers than they have gained from this mess up.
December 20th, 2008 at 3:51 pm
I agree that Miller should not have have replaced Miller Genuine Draft Lite with MGD 64; I’ve lost products that I love to inferior replacements as well. It’s a sucky feeling.
But measured on it’s own, I think it fits well into the niche that Miller was trying to slip it in to.
January 2nd, 2009 at 10:36 pm
I like it. Tried it today….it’s not great, but very good, and @ 64 cals, I love it. Fighting the beer gut is worth the loss of a full taste anytime. Miller….sell it in 24 or 30 packs and I will buy it.
January 3rd, 2009 at 10:09 am
@ Kevin: Seems to flow down your neck? Haha!
I drank a six pack of MGD 64 last weekend, and it flowed down my neck too. And then, rather quickly thereafter, flowed down to my toilet. The only thing tingling after six of these 64s was my bladder.
January 7th, 2009 at 2:20 pm
Genuine Draft Light was the only beer I would drink for years. The taste was perfect, nothing compared! Now I drink Bud Light. This new Light 64 tastes like beer flavored seltzer water!!! BRING BACK THE OLD GENIUNE DRAFT LIGHT!!!!
January 15th, 2009 at 4:20 pm
MGD 64 is amazing if you want a watered down beer taste and don’t want to think about the weight. However, if you want to drink beer to take an edge off, this is not the beer! I found that I have to drink a 12 pack to get feeling good…. if I would drink any other light beer, I would have to drink half as much… which equals half as many calories when you add it up… and half the price. MGD 64 is a waste of my money, calories, and time.
Highly NOT recommended.
January 16th, 2009 at 1:06 pm
M. Scheerer Has absolutely NO Clue as to what he is talking about!
“Mic Ultra” has Better taste & better flavor
And its not even close.
This 64 stuff is a TOTAL Waste of Money & not a Good attempt at making a Lighter Beer!
Highly NOT recommended!
January 16th, 2009 at 7:33 pm
I think I will stick with Miller light.
February 1st, 2009 at 12:37 pm
MGD Light 64 is perfect for those of us who want to watch calories and enjoy beer. My only complaint is the difficulty in purchasing it where I live. I would also like to see 12 and 24 packs available. I still will enjoy Michelob Ultra but will drink both to cut calories. Keep up the good work, Miller!
February 6th, 2009 at 4:56 pm
Whats the point if you have to drink 12 of these before you go out… total waste of time
February 6th, 2009 at 4:57 pm
Although it would be great if your in high school an your trying to get a girl drunk enough to make out with you, however you could also do that with O’Douls
February 6th, 2009 at 5:08 pm
I Think its great. I used to drink Rock Green Light & they took that away. Rolling Rock light sucks, so I had to find another low carb beer. It does have a bitter taste but MGD has more. My wife drinks Mich Ultra in which I don’t like but I like the thin cans. Maybe Miller can make it a thin can beer like Mich Ultra & Heinekin Light. I also can’t find it in 12 pack cans which I prefer but, way to go Miller it still rocks.
February 6th, 2009 at 6:23 pm
I was a long time drinker of the real MGDL and really gave 64 a shot and still cannot stand it. I can not stand Bud Light but I have been found drinking this as a pose to 64. I will never understand why Miller did not make a new line for there 64 crap.
February 17th, 2009 at 12:58 pm
Hmm, MGD 64 seems to serve a purpose, a very bland and sober one, but I agree it tastes WAY better than Mich. Ultra, but no where near Sam Adams Light. For those who want a beer to write with or wash the car to, then try a shot and settle into about six of these. Better than Rolling Rock light, and not nearly as bad as I thought it would be.
February 21st, 2009 at 3:27 pm
I was very reluctant to try the beer. I normally drink bud light but the calorie count caught my eye. I think it is a great tasting beer and am glad to switch to an american brewed product.
February 21st, 2009 at 4:45 pm
well…i am drinking one as i type and i must add that not everyone who drinks WANTS a high alcoholic content any more than they want a high caloric content. i hope u keep it up miller…
February 26th, 2009 at 3:07 pm
No one loves BEER more than I do!!!! Sadly enough I am very limited in the amount of beer I can drink because of high blood pressure, because of the lower alcohol content (and the great taste) I can add a couple more beers each time I enjoy – Thanks Miller!!

For those that don’t like the watered down flavor but still want the benefit of less cals and carbs, try lime. It gets me past the first two or three. Since I’m biologically predisposed to diabetes it doesn’t add pounds or the evil carbs. Don’t like it much but it’s a lot better health wise.
March 9th, 2009 at 2:21 pm
I am a 48 year-old husband/father/teacher who simply enjoys a cold beer from time to time. My wife and I are watching our carb intake (with much success!) so I was eager to try Miller 64.
My first impression was not great but, as several of you have mentioned, it is quite drinkable and there is no real aftertaste. It is definitely growing on me. Miller is to be commended for the fine job they did on this beer!
As for those fo you whining about the lack of a buzz – Grow Up! If your goal is to ‘tie one on’ why are you messing with low-calorie, low-carb lite beers in the first place? Grab a case of Moosehead and strap yourself in!
Again – Well Done, Miller!
March 10th, 2009 at 11:35 pm
I’ve been a Bud drinker for 28 years and have never cared for Miller beer. I think this product tases pretty darn good for a 64 calorie beer. My wife HATES it! I think it tastes like watered down Corona Light – I’m fine wit it. Spring’s a comin’ w/plenty of work to do outside and no need to be too fat to get going!! I believe this is my beer answer going forwar. Cheers!
March 12th, 2009 at 2:18 pm
mgd 64 is great I just love it a nice refreshing light beer low in cals and in alcohol bring it on its fantastice
March 13th, 2009 at 7:42 am
Please, please, please start manufacturing this product in cans. The bottles are a real problem. I enjoy the product and will continue to consume it if it is produced in cans, but probably will go back to my previous product if I have to keep dealing with these bottles.
Thank You.
March 13th, 2009 at 7:45 am
Since I am the man in the family, I am usually the one to dispose of the garbage and I would so appreciate it if you guys would start producing this product in cans. Do you know how heavy these bottles can get? Please think about this!!!
Thank you.
March 17th, 2009 at 11:27 am
I agree, we need this product in cans and also would like to be able to buy it in 12 packs or even cases. I can’t keep buying several 6 packs at a time. Otherwise I’ll have to switch back.
Thanks
March 19th, 2009 at 1:34 pm
Great job Miller! I like the lower alcohol content of this beer. Now when I’m out fishing in hot weather, I can have a couple of beers to beat the heat without forgetting where I am! Just kidding. Please make this stuff in cans. Bottles and boats don’t go well together.
March 20th, 2009 at 9:54 am
It is becoming harder and harder to find this product on the shelves around the Myrtle Beach area in South Carolina. Can you please do something to correct this and while I’m at it, please put it in cans……..
March 20th, 2009 at 9:57 am
I am back here at this website again to plead my case. It is hard for me to find MGD 64 at most grocery stores around my area. (S.C.) I like this beer, but I really am about ready to give up drinking this brand because of the bottles. They are just too much to deal with. Hope you hear me. Thanks.
March 25th, 2009 at 4:45 pm
To EVERYONE looking for 64 in cans, 18pks SHOULD be in your area followed by 30 pks!!!!!!!!!!!
March 27th, 2009 at 11:55 pm
This beer is horrible. Stay away from all costs. I’m just gonna buy an O’doul’s. I’d probably get drunk faster, lol.
April 2nd, 2009 at 9:08 am
Where or where are the CANS!!!!!!
April 2nd, 2009 at 3:45 pm
This is good beer if you want to avoid a big ol belly and it’s gets you drunk I’m on my 7th one and loving it,way cheaper than other light beers(((Burp))”Becks ultra light” so all you hatter’s get the point now “LIGHT” does it ring a bell??? it’s light beer….Horns Up!
April 4th, 2009 at 11:06 am

April 16th, 2009 at 10:32 am
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU FOR THE CANS!!!!
April 17th, 2009 at 2:46 pm
I’ve been on Nutrisystem for a couple of months and really missed my Bud Light so I decided to give MGD Light a chance. I have to say – not bad! I’ve never been a big fan of Miller beers in the past but this guilty pleasure doesn’t leave me feeling like I screwed up my day’s caloric intake. Not sure the people at Nutrisytem would agree with me but I’d rather skip dessert so I can enjoy a beer once in a while.
April 22nd, 2009 at 10:52 am
I AM A 5FT2 109 LB WOMAN AND I DRANK 7 AND ONLY CAUGHT A *SLIGHT* BUZZ – IT DOES NOT GIVE ME A HANG OVER THOUGH.
April 29th, 2009 at 7:19 am
I was not a beer drinker before I tried Miller 64. I love the low calories and love the idea that I won’t get drunk. For those who want to get bombed out of their minds, drink a different beer. Please keep making your Miller 64!!!!
May 6th, 2009 at 7:24 am
love miller LITE,but 64 is great when riding the Harley
May 6th, 2009 at 9:19 pm
Somebody other than me must remember Pearl Light from the late 70’s because as best as a 30-year memory lapse can recall this is that beer. That said, it is what it is and that is a very respectable extremely light (low calorie and alcohol) beer. Drinkable, but not particularly satisfying in comparison to “heavy” light beers. For those seeking more flavor while retaining classic Miller taste just get a 24-oz. mug and pour this and one Miller Lite in it (or a smaller mug and pour half of each twice). I wasn’t a MGDL drinker so I can’t lament the loss of that, but this seems to fill more of a void so perhaps it makes sense. All-in-all, not bad however.
May 7th, 2009 at 6:33 pm
I believe they should call it what it is “neer beer”. I think they might make a lot of money catching people off guard, but lets be honest, most people don’t drink beer because it taste great. They drink it to relax and get a little buzz, or as a social lubricant, anything otherwise and you might as well drink soda!
May 12th, 2009 at 8:16 am
MGD Light is great. I was a big Miller Lite drinker until I tried the MGD 64 in the can. The 64 is my new beer now.
The MGD 64 in the can has sold out in the Little Rock, AR
area. Miller please send us more 64 in the can.
May 21st, 2009 at 1:05 pm
the last case of MGD64 we bought had a couple bottles that were double capped. what do we do to get the proper compensation for these? This is out favorite brand therefore we try to keep the “fridge full”.
I look foroward to your prompt reply.
May 22nd, 2009 at 10:45 am
I absolutely love MGD 64. I’m a Weight Watcher and I love that it’s only 1 point. Also, you can drink twice as many 64’s and function and wake up without a headache. My problem is I’d much rather have the cans than bottles. I also don’t understand why it is soooooooooo expensive in the cans. I purchased a 12 pack of bottles for 10.47 (87 cents a can) and a 18 pack for 18.95 (1.05 cents a can) You can get 30 Coors light for 19.99. (I’ve stopped drinking Coors light because MGD is what I’m been needing for years. With the heavy beer, too much to drink just sneaks up on. With the 64’s I can hang with the big dogs and they don’t even know what the deal is. (hehehehehe!!) I love it will keep drinking it – Just hope I don’t have to keep paying 18.95 for 18 and my husband gets 30 for 19.99. Get more can in our area 20613.
May 25th, 2009 at 1:53 pm
Dazzle, seems like the STORE owners are charging you MORE than what they should. In MY area, Lite, Coors Light, MGD64, Budlight, AND Budweiser 30pks are/should be SAME PRICE!!!! Check with the store and find out what the deal is because it seems to me you got “stiffed”. Just tell them you REFUSE to pay that HIGH PRICE and if you have to, tell them you will take your business somewhere else. That’s “crappy” how SOME retailers charge MORE to make a Profit, when they pay the same price for ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
May 27th, 2009 at 9:27 am
Millerman, I think I did too. I’m going to start pricing the cans in various stores. The bottles are ok but I usually put them in the freezer for a while before I drink them. I just don’t want to chance the bottle freezing and bursting. Thanks for replying.
May 28th, 2009 at 5:39 pm
I absolutely LOVE IT! Thank you for making a beer less in calories and alcohol..it enables me to drink a few more and hang a bit longer with my friends..I enjoy the taste..GOOD JOB!!
June 3rd, 2009 at 7:54 pm
Dazzle and the Rest of you ALL,
Thanks for supporting or better yet trying MGD64. I hope every retailer in your areas treat you ALL with the correct respect and generosity which you ALL deserve. I think MGD64 is going to give Mich Ultra a GOOD run for its money for less cost and better taste, not to mention the calorie and carb counts. Keep on enjoying another great beer from MILLER.
June 11th, 2009 at 11:52 pm
not a miller drinker i stoped drinking beer for awhile try to lose weight my wife asked me you want some beer i told her lets try the new miller i have seen your commercial a few times and thought i would never try it but like i said trying to lose weight anyway GOOD JOB i have found a NEW BEER THANK YOU
June 14th, 2009 at 6:52 pm
MGD 64 is great! I don’t need the calories or alcohol but I like beer. It has great taste and is really refreshing.
It beats Mich Ultra.
June 16th, 2009 at 5:07 pm
Those of you comparing Miller 64 to the New Coke blunder are WAY off base. With New Coke, Coca-Cola changed their flagship product…their signature flavor that had been basically the same for over 100 years.
June 27th, 2009 at 9:28 am
For what it is meant to accomplish it does it well!! I love the alcohol content for days when you’re having one after another. They’re great for the boat. Very chilly and refreshing taste!! Thanks Miller
July 8th, 2009 at 1:20 pm
I recently bought a 12 pack/bottles of Miller 64 and 3 of the bottles opened them selves. Luckly they did not make a mess. 2 poped open in frige and one poped as I was putting it in a cooler.
No more bottles for me.
July 28th, 2009 at 6:54 pm
Try a lime in it. I think 64 is refreshing and yes,a great beer on the boat.
July 29th, 2009 at 4:26 pm
Hate it, Hate it, Hate it…
My husband and I switched to MGD light from MGD years ago just because of calories. MGD light was great tasting back then. This new formula has left us trying new beers ever since and still have not found one that we really like.
PLEASE go back to original formula for all of our sakes.
BAD MOVE on Miller’s part. Now we don’t drink Miller products.
August 1st, 2009 at 10:48 pm
BS! I hate these commercials! I have been drinking Michelob Ultra since it came out and it’s the best low carb beer on the market! They are not just counting calories, the carbs are the most important for us low carb dieters! Please don’t compare Michelob Ultra to low calorie beers, that’s really not what they are about!
August 3rd, 2009 at 5:21 pm
I like Miller Light
I like MGD
I like Bacardi Gold
I like Jack Daniels
and I like Miller Genuine Draft Light 64
You’re not going to get drunk on one or two but you will enjoy the refreshing taste.
August 9th, 2009 at 6:59 pm
MGDL 64 is awesome! I use to drink Bud Lite but now moved over to the 64. While Bud Lite is still a good beer 64 work’s better for me. I buy my fair share of 64 and it’s well worth the price. Right now in Florida I get it for $9.99 per 12 pack and about 12.99 a 18 pack.
August 14th, 2009 at 11:22 pm
Who would buy this and actually expect it to taste good? People who bought it and claim that its bad deserve it. Of course its bad.
August 14th, 2009 at 11:29 pm
A bottle of guiness has 125 calories. one bottle of guiness is definately a better choice than two of these, also, same amount of alcohol in one guiness as two 64s. Funny how that works. Also, gin, vodka, rum, and whisky/scotch all have between 65 and 75 calories per serving. All taste better than this garbage
August 17th, 2009 at 3:07 pm
i just want you all to know from a person trying to lose weight and still likes her beer. MGD light 64 is the best ever. I love it and along with watching what I eat, work out i can still drink and lose weight. Thanks and keep it up
August 20th, 2009 at 1:30 pm
Genuine Draft is a premium beer? What you talkin bout Willis.
August 20th, 2009 at 1:32 pm
Mich Ultra – check the fluid oz size on the bottles. 10oz. Not 12oz. Marketing trick.
August 28th, 2009 at 10:45 am
I absolutely LOVE it. I’ve switched from Coors Light to MGD 64. The calories and taste alone are a great reason to switch but the alcohol content is the icing on the cake. No hangover, no headache which I used to get from other beers, no stomach upset. Thanks MGD!
September 3rd, 2009 at 5:36 am
If you want to lose weight how about a glass of water. It has 0 calories and 0 carbs. If you want a beer drink a real beer not this carbonated corn water.
September 3rd, 2009 at 8:41 am
I love this beer! This is the best way to drink alcohol or beer while you are trying to watch your weight. You people who don’t like it or think you are drinking corn water, then switch to something else. Don’t try and bring the rest of us down because of something YOU don’t like. It is a very popular beer here on the east coast! Keep up the great work Miller!!!!
September 6th, 2009 at 9:31 pm
I loved this beer! It does have a kick to it too! I typically drink Corona Light or Heineken as I have never cared for our domestic beers. But, the amount of calories, which is only 64, brought me to this one and I was pleasantly surprised. Yes, there is a difference in the body of the beer, but I don’t think it’s watery at all. I will be drinking this until they no longer make it. For those of you watching your calories, I really think you’ll be pleased.
September 12th, 2009 at 6:46 pm
This beer tastes like O’Doul’s.
September 25th, 2009 at 4:28 pm
You have to ask yourself, what kind of beer are you looking for? If you want a full flavor beer you’re in the wrong place. If you want to get drunk (you probably are not really that concerned about calories) you’re in the wrong place. This is a niche beer. It is for people who want to have a few beers out and be able to drive home or have a few drinks at night without rotting your liver. Do you realize a person who consumes 3 or more normal beers on a regular bases or more then 4 beers at a time during the weekend is headed for liver damage. If you don’t believe me then google it. You can have more of this beer with less damage. I do not enjoy being drunk but I like to have a few beers every night. This is perfect. I do agree, if you are only in it for the calories you can get higher alcohol content and a better taste for only a few more calories. I can not stand NA beer so this is the best low alcohol beer I found. Liver approved!
October 2nd, 2009 at 6:44 pm
THIS IS A DIETER’S DREAM BEER!!!! I can’t stand NA beers either but there are sooooo many beers out there that I don’t know why anyone really has to complain! There’s a beer for everyone. I guarantee they are selling more of the MGD 64 than the other that I never drank anyway. People are more health conscious and they’ve cornered the market here!!! Smart marketing and I like the beer.
November 25th, 2009 at 3:48 pm
Watered down or not, i like the taste this beer has. And I promise you , you drink enough of them, you will get a hell of a buzz. Not to mention the beer as well as diet an exercise has helped me lose 80 pounds !!!!.
Give me some more 64 !!!!!!!!!!!
November 29th, 2009 at 3:18 pm
After close to 40 year I have found A new favorite beer.
MGD64.
I love the taste and most places carry it. The fact that it only has 64 calares and 2.8% alcahol is A plus. I drink beer because I like the taste, Not to get drunk.
Great beer.
This from someone that has been drinking Miller High Life for close to 40 years.
November 30th, 2009 at 1:54 pm
I am happy to report that you have stolen me from Michelob Ultra . The taste of Miller Genuine Draft Light 64 calorie beer is perfect. I can drink a few beers and not take in quite so many calories. Also a lower alcohol level.Keep up the good work people.
January 30th, 2010 at 9:08 pm
I love MGD 64, thank you, thank you. I love the taste, not alot of alcohol so I can drink all night with friends & not get stupid drunk & not have all the calories. If you don’t like the fact that it only has 64 calories & very low in alcohol content, then you need to drink full strength or Guiness. There are many that are trying to watch there weight & health, it is perfect
February 12th, 2010 at 11:45 am
Great Light Tasting Beer!
Let’s face it, it’s light and that’s what it’s supposed to be. I’ve been drinking it since it came out as I am a Beer Drinker and I Love my beer, not for the buzz but the flavor, which it does fall a little short of.
But if I want flavor I go to my Dark Beers for that.
Just gotta tell ya all though!!
Since drinking MGD 64 my belly has almost but dissapered so I am happy about that!!
Great Job Miller!!
February 14th, 2010 at 2:16 am
I bought an 18 pack of MGD Light once a week for 15 Years. After one 12 pack of MGD 64, never again. Tastes like yellow water with no alcohol. Miller really screwed this up. I have since switched to Michelob Golden Light. It’s cold filtered and has 110 calories with 4.2% alcohol.
March 3rd, 2010 at 9:34 pm
I love this stuff ! It’s extremely crisp and light, but thats the intention. It does not get you drunk unless you gulp a ton of them down fast. but thats not what it’s about. I have tried every light beer there is and the vast majority have a nasty after taste and the best don’t match this stuff IMO. It does exactly what i was after. That would be to offer a crisp taste without the horrible taste most light beer has, and to give me a slight buzz that never gets me drunk. Just a relaxed light buzz and crisp taste with no bitter nastiness. As far as i’m concerned they not only succeeded in making a super light beer with good taste, but they literally created my favorite beer ever ! there are times i DO want a good buzz, and then i drink something else. But when i do it’s like drinking piss compared to 64, and i soon want to dump the rest of it and go get some more 64. The only problem is it’s not on sale nearly as often as say coors or miller light. And because of that and the fact i go thru them so fast due to the weak alcohol content, it costs me a fortune to drink beer on the weekends now. never the less, a great beer that fills a certain need that absolutely no other beer does. it stands alone in what it is, like it or not.
March 3rd, 2010 at 9:36 pm
By the way, i should have mentioned after ready the post above mine that you can’t drink a 12 pack of these and “get it”. yes, they taste weak. But trust me, drink them for a short while and they will not taste weak at all once you are used to them. but other beer will taste even nastier ! It’s all in what you are used to drinking. As much as i love this stuff, i too thought it was weak at first. no more !
