Dr. Pepper Cherry
My, it sure has been awhile since we saw any major extensions to the national soda brands. The last one that I remember was also a Dr. Pepper product, Diet Cherry Chocolate. If my memory serves me correctly, I said it was doomed to fail. Well, it failed. But major kudos for trying Doc!
They went back to the drawing board and came out with this; just regular Dr. Pepper with a bit of cherry flavor added in. Those of you with good memories might recall Dr. Pepper Red Fusion from a few years ago, and that’s pretty much what Dr. Pepper Cherry is. Red Fusion with a different color, and a diet sibling.
In all honesty, if you’re a fan of Dr. Pepper (or Diet Dr. Pepper), you’re more than likely going to enjoy the Cherry variants. It’s a bit hard to tell the difference, and I’m not entirely sure that I could in a blind taste test. Do I recommend trying it? I say; ‘Sure, why not?’ It isn’t something so unique and different that you should run right out for it, but if you see it somewhere and you’re thirsty, I would give it a shot. Enjoy Pepper-heads!

I love all of the Diet Dr. Pepper spinoffs. What 7-up/Scweppes does is buy tons of startups and sell them off when they catch on to Pepsi or Coke. They just did that in our area with Monster energy drinks.
Interestingly enough, Dr. Pepper came from Waco. Would you like some Branch Davidians with your soda?
